The three layer micro fiber outer material is lightweight, durable, windproof, waterproof, soft, and durable. The soft-shell micro fiber is bonded to tight knit fleece to increase comfort (warmth) then lined for added durability. The overall weight of the Sabre Jacket is perfect for all season use and looks great on the job or for casual wear.We’ve included laser cut welded seams and watertight YKK zippers with molded ergonomic zipper pulls and zipper garages. No need for zipper flaps which make the Sabre Jacket lighter and provides quicker access to pockets. This also provides a very clean and professional look.Six external pockets make it easy to stow all of your gear. Two internal pockets give quick access to a concealed firearm. Let me start out by saying that I LIKE 5.11 as a company, but this one needs to go back to the drawing board. Here's the problems...

...The liner in this jacket DOES NOT BREATH! Don't get me wrong if your wearing this under a vest your going to get sweaty anyway, but a light jog, or hike should not be this uncomfortable. It's like wearing a trashbag, sure it'll protect you from the outside elements (and does a great job of that) but when you take it off, you better have a dry shirt and/or towel ready.

...The side zip's won't stay zipped. They advertize this feature so you have quick access to a sidearm. That being said, they're not necessary, and certainly not needed to zip all the way to the pit. When your running, wearing a pack, or doing anything dynamic, they're going to ride up.

...The drawstrings on the waist. This kinda goes back to the side zips. Because of the sidezips, the drawstring doesn't go all the way around the back, so when you do try to secure the lower hem, the front will blouse closed, the rear will still be flappin in the wind. If you operate in the snow or wind, your going to get it up your back.

...The ID Panels that are stowed in the chest. This coat is about as close to waterproof as a coat can get without being a dry suit (as long as the water isn't below you and to the read because the drawstrings will fail) Sadly because of those panels, the zippers above that comparment aren't stitched all that well, and when those fail, the waterproofing is gone!

...Lastly the Velcro ID Panels on the Sleeves: THey're just big enough to fit a Flag insignia, nothing more.

So if they fixed these problems, this jacket would be top notch. But for now, they really need to revamp this jacket.
