Vendor: Vendor performed as advertised and would use them again! They sent it to me on time (2-day delivery), new, and packaged appropriately.Amazon: I made a mistake in ordering to my home address and needed to change it because I'm out of state. It was very simple to correct the address within minutes on my account. Awesome!
Parka: I was in the Army from 93-99 and was issued the Gen 1 parka and loved it! With a poly pro and the parka/ pants you would be warm no matter what and materials were light in weight. I was stationed in Fort Drum, NY and South Korea, which is very cold, spending months in the woods in very cold temps. Therefore, I was looking for an equivelent product that wasn't camoflauge now that I'm a civilian. Therefore I selected this parka in black. It seems to be exactly the same with the exception of amount of pockets and materials. There isn't an map/ chest pocket as the military issue. However it will work just fine. Took it out in the wind and rain and it performed great. I haven't had a chance to test it in the cold yet now that I'm done freezing. Now that I order the parka we are now getting 70 degree weather....Duh... :) Also it rolls up nice and tight if you need to pack it. Also has armpit zippers in case you get to hot. Also I love the hood which some hate but it is thick and cuts the wind great. Great addition to my kit for hunting, hiking, camping, fishing, and everyday where when it is colder out for $80 you can't beat it!
Negatives:
1. The parka is tight in the shoulders when pairing it with the liner that it comes with, a sweatshirt, or the Polartech 300 fleece jacket. However is loose everywhere else. I think that I remember that the military issue one was a little tight as well. I can deal with it so I'm keeping it.
2. The zipper is a little hard to start as all others have mentioned in reviews.
3. Less pockets than the military issue ones. Would be nice to have the map pocket so you can dry your socks out while hiking.
