Chit is a british term for a small document. A blood chit or identification flag is sewn on the inside lining. The graphic includes a u.s. Flag and a message in several languages identifying an airman as a u.s. Aviator during the vietnam war, if a pilot were shot down the blood chit would aid the airman in avoiding capture and in being returned safely to u.s.
