I did a lot of research on parkas before deciding on the Tru-Spec parka. It isn't Gortex, so I was kind of on the fence about the purchase. It is half the price, so I figured I would take a chance. I was pleasantly suprised about the quality of the parka. The material is very good quality. The stiching is strong and the zippers work very well. I like the zippers under the pits. They keep the heat from building up if you don't need it. I am glad I got the Gen II. I like the hood that folds into the collar.It also has the two map pockets on the inside and sleeve pockets on both arms. It does keep me really dry in the rain. I also purched the fleece liner and it fits the parka like a glove. It zips together on the sides and snaps at the collar and the sleeves. This is a great addition in cold weather.
