I came back to buy another one - this time in black. It's easier to order from Amazon than make the trek to the surplus store in my current situation.

My first - the olive drab color - is years old and has been all over the country, used by myself, both kids, as a trip camera/junk/food bag at theme parks, and finally ended up in the back of my rock crawler holding some 'trail tools'. Air compressor, wrenches, extra small parts, etc... The bag held all the heavy items great and is still in service for that purpose. Long term exposure to the sun has faded it to more of a yellowish color...but it's still not popped even one stitch.

While I will always be more or a 'backpack person', it's hard to beat a messenger bag for a lot of uses. This one is just crazy tough - sort of makes you feel silly for even thinking of blowing more $$ on a different bag.

To that end, I now have a black one for the bag rotation duties where a messenger type bag works better over a backpack. lighter loads where I tend to get and out of the bag many times a day and in crowds or on public transportation)
