Rothco has made military style uniforms for many years and have it down fairly well. These are basically their normal Tiger Stripe BDU pants cut down to shorts, nothing less or more. They have the older style size adjusters on both hip under the belt loops. I used to cut these off my issue pants as they would chaff under a belt. The pattern is a version of Tiger Stripe as populized by Vietnam. Camo shorts seem to be in style judging from all the college kids I see wearing them, so I don't think you would look too militant in them. All and all a good pair of shorts for a good price. The sizing equates to the standard military sizing.

New Made Item: This is the highest quality U.S. WWII crusher cap on the market today. This is the classic "bomber pilot" headgear, worn by USAAF pilots in Europe and the Pacific! Actually, this was the standard Army/AAF officer's dress cap, worn by pilots and non-pilots alike, but pilots gave this cap their own unique twist. Normally, this cap had stiffeners -- a support piece behind the cap device and a wire around the inside top perimeter to maintain the cap's round shape. These kept the cap in its proper, regulation military shape and angle. However, since bomber pilots wore headsets over their caps during flights, they would remove the wire stiffener to make headset wear more comfortable, causing the sides of the caps to become crushed. Eventually, the caps retained their floppy "crushed" look, giving the pilot who wore it the look of a seasoned veteran.

The crush cap identified its wearer as an experienced pro, and was as much a part of his identity as his leather flight jacket. The crush cap look quickly became popular with ground army officers and general officers.

The IMA Crush Caps recreate that "50 Mission" look without having to fly 50 missions. The OD green caps were worn with the winter uniform and are most often associated with the European theater, while the khaki caps were worn with the summer uniform and are most often associated with the Pacific theater.

I'm a bit disappointed with this hat. Although the color is spot on. The visor is way too small and is angled too steep (like a Nazi officer's hat). The front top portion is way too high (again like a Nazi officer's hat). It's zero in accuracy. I suggest you search extensively first before buying this version. If you have a sharp eye with a discriminating taste to detail you will see what I mean.

Digital Woodland Camouflage BDU Shirt (2X-Large) Review

Its well built! better then the ACU's.
It shipped quite Fast.
The smell was strange, but not fowl.
It blends in better than most camo's that I've used. It comes in second place behind German Flektarn.
I was 5'8 and 150 pounds when i purchased this, i am 5'10 now and 160 pounds and it still fits.
It feels nice and almost as if it would be water proof.

I bought this bag to carry my new Apple 11" Macbook Air notebook w/components. (The computer is protected by another sleeve.) So far it's working just fine for that purpose; however, I'm thinking about placing some small velcro tabs on the little pockets on the bottom of the bag, to prevent things from coming out. TRU-SPEC 2550005 Combat Shirt NYCO Ripstop Multicam Large-Regular Review

It does everything it promises. It's well made, and reinforced where you need it. The side pockets are secured with heavy zippers that open and close with ease. It keeps you much cooler, and I'd buy it again. It's also not too tight or too lose. I'm 6'1, 190 lbs., and it didn't fit on me like it was painted on, nor was it too lose. I have long arms, and the sleeves were just right, and also not too tight, as will other combat shirts. The length is also good, so you can tuck it in, and not worry about it getting untucked as you move. It's a pain to have to adjust your gear on the move, especially with full battle rattle.

Heavyweight Classic Canvas Messenger Bag, Olive Drab Review

Having just gotten an iPad, I needed something to carry it around in without attracting too much attention. And having used a messenger back through my time in boot camp, I decided to go ahead and try my luck at getting one here on Amazon.

Lo and behold, I found this bag.

It's nothing too special, just having a couple pockets on the outer front lining, two slots on either end for a water bottle (or other such items), and a zip up pouch on the inside, but it does the trick just fine.

My only real problem with the bag is that the velcro that's used to secure the flap to the bag itself has a full line going on the flap, but only a few strips along the bag itself. This leads to not getting a good "seal" a lot of the times when you're in a hurry to just grab the bag and go.

Even so, I've got no reason not to recommend this to others.

5.11 #48103 Signature Duty Jacket (Dark Navy, X-Large) Review

Looks, fit and function are great, but there is one annoying feature that should have been noticed in the design stage. The zip-out lining does not attatch to the coat at the bottom. When putting the jacket on, the liner often gets folded up on your back, and you have to either struggle with it to get the liner in the proper position, or take the jacket off and try putting it on again.

But, because it looks so darn good, I'm still diggin' it.
