I really like 'boonies' for outdoor activities like hiking. If you don't need it, roll it up and stuff it in a pocket.

I have purchased several different brands of 'boonie' hats over the last three years trying to find one that was high quality and a good fit. I have found it with this RapDom hat. Its is made in Vietnam, and is of a sturdy fabric, and the stitching is perfect, unlike some other brands I have bought. The metal vent holes are screened, they are placed evenly on the sides, and they are pressed in straight (unlike the Fox brand boonie I got last summer) and well-anchored in the fabric.

I would say it runs true to size for me, that is, I wear an XL, and this XL fits me well.

I'm going to buy another RapDom to keep in the car, and toss my Fox boonie out into the garage for oil changes.
